One of things I love most about living in NYC is the fact that I don’t have to do laundry. Sure, I could do laundry if I really wanted to. And, when we first moved here, we did. We packed up all of our clothes in a laundry bag, put it in our homeless cart (as my sister calls it) and went down the street a few blocks to the laundromat, where we sat for nearly two hours as we washed and dried our clothes. Not fun, especially since the laundromat was a cool 80*. We soon heard about these places called “wash and folds” that washed your laundry, and you pay by the pound.
Every two weeks or so, we take our laundry to San Toy up the street and they wash, dry, fold… everything. Granted, sometimes our socks come back slightly mismatched, but overall it’s a fantastic experience.
Except when we get lazy and don’t pick it up. And I have to run in shorts when it’s 37* outside. Brrr. As was the case with my run this morning (actually, I think this just means that I need to go shopping for some new running clothes!)… it took about five miles before my legs were fully warmed up, but that’s OK. It was a good run — nothing special, nothing to complain about. I tried to run a little quicker when I hit the park, and that fell nicely into place.
I just know that my body is super excited for a rest day tomorrow. Little does it know, I am taking it on a 20 miler on Saturday. Shhh, it’s our little secret…
How many pairs of running pants / leggings do you have?
What is your favorite pair and where did you get them? Can you tell I’m fishing for gear recommendations?
