After a full week of training (woo!), I took today off from running. I think my body needed it! Although I ended up having a horrible dream about the wedding so I didn’t sleep as well as I should have. Basically, I’ve been feeling like a big slacker (really, I feel like most of the details don’t need to be figured out for a few more months…) so I haven’t been doing much, just little things here and there. So I had a dream it was our wedding day and it was a disaster. I didn’t have shoes, couldn’t find my veil and midway through, my dreamy me realized that I had never booked our honeymoon. Now hopefully THAT doesn’t happen. At least I’ll be working on wedding stuff a lot this weekend so hopefully I can check some to do’s off the list!

So the Brooklyn Half Marathon is coming up in May, and I didn’t realize it was a popular race. I ran it last year and it was pretty awesome because it was two loops around Prospect Park and continued down to Coney Island. It was $25 to register, which was even better! NYRR has yet to open registration and people are pissed, to say the least. If you need some comical relief, head to NYRR’s Facebook page and see how mad people are getting about the delay. Rumor has it they are trying to change the course so it runs through more neighborhoods in Brooklyn, which would be pretty cool.
Someone started a website, “Is the Brooklyn Half on Sale?” to poke fun at the situation. It is funny (although a lot of the jokes are NYC-specific), and I think it’s even funnier that someone paid for the domain just to post this site.

Are you all about March Madness? I have about eight brackets in progress right now, and I’m always surprised when I pick the most rando teams. In one of my brackets, I had VCU and West Virginia winning so it was perfect as of when we went to bed last night. Score!

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I am wearing green today. Although, I’m not sure if I’ll partake in any festivities as I am volunteering for the NYC Half on Sunday. Which means I have to be in Manhattan at 6 a.m., a.k.a. super early bedtime for this girl! But, I am excited because I am volunteering at the finish, handing out medals… and since Kara and Meb are running, I hope this means I’ll get to see/meet them!

That's hilarious that people were ticked enough to start their own site over a $25 double loop half. It must have been a great loop! But for $25, I would want to do it too.
Every year, I intend to fill out a bracket and never do. My citizenship should be revoked.
Ha, I think people just need something to complain about! You are probably saving yourself a lot of stress by not filling out a bracket… it can be so frustrating!
Have fun volunteering Sunday! What a great experience that will be!
I know! I'm hoping to get some pictures, but can't promise anything!
Just found out Meb will be at the Eugene Marathon expo. Can't wait to see him again after Houston!
Lucky!! He is so amazing!!
Have you read his book yet?
