I FORGOT HOW TO BREATHE

Last night we went to the Yankees game and considering our winning losing streak. If you can believe it, you can get tickets to the game super cheap on Stub Hub… especially for games during the week. I think last year we went to about one game of every series, and we’ll probably do the same this year.

Well, if they start winning when we go. So far, we are 0-3 on the season meaning we haven’t seen them win ONE game this year. C and I decided that if we get to 0-10, we might have to stop going to the games. Let’s hope that our streak improves!

Apparently this morning, I woke up and forgot how to breathe. I had killer side-aches throughout my entire run this morning. Boo. My usual strategy of breathing in through my nose for two counts and then exhaling through my mouth until my lungs were empty didn’t even work. I have no idea what was going on, but I guess I can say I’m happy that I ran through it!

Afterwards I decided to tackle the weights since I think it’s been awhile since I’ve done that. And let me tell you, I can tell! My arms were burning like no other and I was just doing my normal bicep curls. I was able to pull out 34 push ups… much better than a few months ago.

I really want to do the 100 Push Up Challenge…

Has anyone done this? I downloaded the app but that’s as far as I got. It’s a six week training plan. I’m always hesitant to try something while I’m training for a race, but maybe it’s worth it since it’ll help strengthen my arms a bit more?

Do you watch baseball? Who’s your favorite team? How do you get rid of a side ache (without walking)?

I started the 100 pushups challenge! I only did it for like 2 weeks though, haha. I should probably start that again.

I usually get side stitches when I'm not hydrated enough…and just dig my fingers into my side. Haha prob not the best idea. This is also weird, but I hold my breath for a few seconds and then it goes away for a minute. I'm guessing this isn't good for you though :)

Oh and I loveeee baseball! I'm a Cardinals fan but like the Yankees now too since I live out here and can actually watch all the games.

I have the 100 push-ups app and am friends with the creator. I love it!! It keeps me committed because I know I just have to tap the app then follow through. I use the 100 sit ups too an sub in crunches, twists, etc.

I don't watch baseball (except for my kids little league games) but my husband & family are die-hard Phillies fans so I always root for them!

I followed the 100 push up challenge for about four weeks. Its really doable, and doesn't take much time. As I got further into the program, the workouts left me too sweaty to not shower afterwards. It was hard for me to find a time that I could consistently do the exercises 3 times a week, without having to go somewhere afterward. But I did notice a significant difference in my muscle tone and strength.

Really? That's good to know… it would be nice to tack it on to the end of the run but I'm always short for time in the mornings. :) So that makes me feel like I can do it!

  • I did the push up challenge!! I also tried the squat challenge but didn't get as far on that one…

  • I have downloaded the 100 push up challenge a couple of times and never followed through. Haha. I did 60 pushups and 30 tricep push ups last night and I am sore today. eeek.

  • Umm yeah I can only do girly push ups rights now. 34 is pretty badass!! I downloaded the situp app once and was trying to do those. Much easier for me than the pushups. Oh and have you ever been to the shrinkjeans website? They do monthly calendars with daily challenges that build-up as you go on (example: Monday April 1= 30 burpees, 30 sec wall sit, 30 sec plank. Friday April 30= 90 burpees, 2 min. wall sit, 3 min. plank)

I get side stiches quite a bit and never know what to do with them. When you find out the reason why or how to get rid of them let me know! Your circuit looked like a tough workout. Way to rock it!

I've heard of that app….I thought about trying it before, maybe I should give it a go! 100 is a freaking lot of push ups to do at once, haha!

  • I've contemplated that 100 Pushup challenge. But I think my shoulders are already wide enough!
I used to live walking distance from the Milwaukee Brewers stadium so I would go to at least a couple of games/month.

Hi, I see you're a fellow Sweat Pink Ambassador :) Just stopped by to check out your blog! I love baseball- and I'm a Pirates fan so I know all about losing…:) When I get side stitches I usually try to just breath in through my nose deep and out through my mouth- when i'm really desperate I walk and put my hands on my head..seems to work!

I forgot how to breathe this morning too! I just ride it out, and maybe take a walk break if I'm on a killer hill. But it'll usually come back the second I start again! I try to take really deep, long breaths and slow my pace. The 100 pushup challenge looks super cool! :)

Oh hell, I can hardly do 10 push ups..it's pathetic. My strength has always been in my legs not my arms! HAH. Good luck if you try it, you're about 1/3 the way there already with 34!
