It’s C’s birthday weekend, so that means a lot of happy hours and good food. We kicked off the weekend with happy hour at Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club by South Street Seaport. We were slightly skeptical because of its close location to the Seaport, which is tourist central. But, it managed to be located off the beaten path and it was well worth it. The drinks are a little pricey, but the views are amazing.
Afterwards, we ventured to TriBeCa… an area that we’ve never really hung out in. But we read on Yelp that Walker’s was supposed to be pretty good and had one of the best burgers in the city. Um, yes please.
The burgers were good, but I think the most amazing part was the cheddar. And this is saying a lot since I’m from WI and I’m kind of a cheese snob. But it was amazing.
I tried to share, but C says its not normal to eat a piece of cheese by itself or on a fork? More for me.
I tried asking the waitress where they got it from, but I think she a) thought I was really weird and b) was fearful that I was a spy trying to steal their signature recipe. I think next time we go back, I’ll just see if I can order the cheese without the burger. All I need.
This morning I woke up and did my last long run before the BK half next weekend. Eight miles! It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL out today…
…which makes up for the rain that we’ve been suffering through for the past two weeks. We are spending the day venturing around the city and I will be convincing C that froyo is a MUST stop on our list.
What are you doing today? Do you think it’s weird to eat cheese by itself?
