TOSSING AND TURNING

I am usually asleep within 8 minutes of my head hitting the pillow, if not faster. So when I spend half the night up, tossing and turning, I am an unhappy camper. Last night, it probably took me about an hour to fall asleep and I was annoyed beyond belief. For some reason, my head wanted to run through every random possible scenario it could think of for every possible thing that was happening in the next six months. I was yawning, yet panicking that I was going to forget to do something before the wedding. I was wishing that C would wake up so I could talk to him. But he didn’t. When I was about to give up (and get up to create a list of DIY projects to work on, yeah, I’m that cool), I finally fell asleep. Only to wake up from a dream that I was driving a delivery truck that was pretty much rigged up as a bomb. What is up with my brain?!
I was happy when I woke up this morning to see that my Victoria’s Secret order shipped.
In less than 48 hours! Score. I bought three swimsuits, one because it was on clearance and two to see if I like them for Jamaica. I know I have some serious work to do on these stomach rolls abs… anyone up for an intense summer training plan?
This morning I ended up running in the rain. There was only a 40 percent chance of rain, which usually means clear skies, but halfway through, it started pouring. I was shielded for some of it because of the trees in Prospect Park, but did get a little soaked. It helped to take my mind off my legs because they are still sore from the half. Which made for an interesting burpee challenge day…
***Burpee Challenge: Day 7***
This was by far the roughest day of burpees, holy cow. Full update about it tomorrow, but my legs were so sore that it was hard to keep the jumps going. I can’t believe that I’ve been doing this for a week… and more importantly, I can’t believe that I haven’t forgotten to do it at all! Below is a brief update I’ll post daily (thanks to my SweatPink sisters for the idea!) about the challenge and my thoughts… (want to contribute? Feel free to send me your thoughts about a particular day and I’ll feature you! Email is bklynrunning (at) gmail.com.)
DAY 6: The 30-Day Burpee Challenge
1. How many burpees did you do? 20
2. When did you do your burpees? How long did it take you? I didn’t work out yesterday so I did them as I was cooking dinner. My legs were sore from the half marathon, but it wasn’t too bad. I did 10 and then took a break. It probably took me around 3 minutes.
3. Most importantly, how do you feel after day 6? My back and arms are no longer sore and I think it is getting a little easier to do these. While I’m doing more than before, I can handle doing more in a row without a break. I still get super out of breath! I can’t believe that, considering I feel like I have a strong cardio base.

I love VS suimsuits! I wished I had a good excuse to buy a couple of new ones this summer.
Summer is just as good of a reason as any!
They are actually having a reasonable sale over there so worth checking out! The one suit I got (top and bottom) was less than $20!
Cassey at blogilates is launching a Bikini Blaster series that looks really great! I love how upbeat she is during her workouts-it makes the pain/burpees a little more bearable. I have done her first video a couple of times, and I think the second one just came out.
Ooh! I will definitely have to check it out. Thanks for the tip!
i think i accidentally only did 20 instead of 21 burpees for my challenge today… lol i don't know if my legs could have done one more after my workout today though!
I always used to have trouble sleeping at night until I started working out every day. Now when I can't sleep, it's like a nightmare! I totally feel you on that
Hahah! Oops… you can always make up one right before you go to bed. My legs were totally struggling too… and to think I have to add on two more for tomorrow to get to 50!
Ugh, I’m glad I’m not the only one… I can’t imagine having that issue every single night!
Lora, I am so impressed by this burpee challenge. You are rocking it!
Thanks!! You should join!!!
I'm waiting on my VS order to get here! Can't wait for it
Woo! And of course today I just got some VS rewards in the mail… one day too late.
It’s so funny you mention a summer training plan, just last night I was planning out a “core” challenge for my blog! I definitely need to work on that myself so I figured maybe some people would want to join me, haha! PS I promise to do burpees tonight!!
I am TOTALLY in if you do a core challenge!!
So jealous that you are able to fall asleep that fast! It usually takes me a good 30 to 45 minutes just to feel tired…
That would drive me nuts!! Haha
VS swimsuits are so great! I also ran in the rain today.. Twice. In the morning, it was pouring, and in the afternoon it was like misting. I hope the weather clears up soon!
Agreed, what is up with this weather?! Kudos on the two a days!
I have been wearing myself out GOOD lately, so I fall asleep almost right away. It helps that I work early mornings so I am up at either 3 or 4 am. That definitely helps with lights out.
That's really early!! What time do you start work?
I have a love/hate relationship with VS swimsuits. I love them in print/online, I order, then I hate the way they look on me and I return them.
Thanks for the giveaway!!
I'm always scared about that happening! Supposed to be delivered today so we'll see…
