FRIDAY RANDOMNESS

Today is normally a rest day for me and since I’m committed to a few different challenges, the Runner’s World Run Streak included, it just wasn’t going to happen. I won’t have a rest day until after the 4th of July, which kind of scares me.

Anyways, it was a VERY short run this morning… a whole mile! According to RunningMap.com (which you should try out, way better than the ad-infested MapMyRun), it was actually 1.13 miles. C said that I better watch out saying sarcastic things about the distance being so short because that’s when bad things happen. Point taken.

It was fun to run such a short distance and I think it’s a good way to fall back in love with running if you are every falling out of it. I came home and did Kara’s killer ab challenge and finished up with some burpees. These things are getting hard. It could be that Kara’s ab challenge sucked the energy right out of me first. But either way, I better have some banging abs by time I go on vacation in July.

One of our friends has finally convinced me to take the CrossFit Challenge. I will be trying out my first class on Sunday! I am excited, and nervous, that it’s finally happening. We have been talking about it since before Boston and things just haven’t worked out where I could do it. There is a place that is literally a few blocks away from my apartment, but their logo kind of scares me.

Last night I had another crazy dream, this time it was about snakes. The reliable Dream Moods say it means this:

Snake

To see a snake or be bitten by one in your dream signifies hidden fears and worries that are threatening you.  Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced.

I am not sure what to make of that… there are a lot of things that I’m worried about, mostly in my professional life. But, I would rather not dream about snakes again. Especially since these things in my dream were huge, lived in water and liked to attack like crazy.

And of course, I have to leave you with your weekly dose of crazy cat lady…

I think you are brilliant doing this runners world challenge, my shins would ache like crazy if I didn't have at least one rest day each week. One runner I know actually did this type of challenge for a whole year imagine that! – she succeeded as well.
Have a great weekend, we have a long weekend as we have bank holidays on Mon/Tues for the Queens Diamond Jubilee so hoping for a bit of sun as it's gone cooler and rainy here …. so my next 5k race tomorrow afternoon should be a bit cooler than last week's evening race in 24 degrees!

    Happy running.

  • Props to you for trying Crossfit! I can't wait to hear about it!

  • You are a busy girl with all of your workouts! I think you will like CF, just be careful and don't hurt yourself. My hubby did it for a couple of months and probably would have had better results if he ate better when I wasn't watching him.
