SLIMKICKER GIVEAWAY

So I’ve been kind of obsessively talking about motivating yourself lately and one of the coolest ways to do it is with an online program like Slimkicker.

Have you guys heard about this site? It’s free to sign up and it helps you track your fitness and nutrition goals by turning it into a game… so when you achieve your goals, you level up with points and rewards.

Oh! And the best part: They also have different challenges that you can sign up for to help kick yourself into shape. And you all know how much I love challenges

They have a bunch of them listed on their site, but the one most appealing is 100 planks in one week. Do you think you could do that? If only I still had an office (instead of cubes), then I could just break out a few every hour or so.

And, that’s where the giveaway comes in! Slimkicker wants to give one of you this awesome crockpot (seriously, perfect for easy summer recipes!):

All you have to do is leave a comment with your suggestion on a fun and creative fitness or diet challenge (one or two sentences). Slimkicker will pick their favorite, which may be one of their featured challenges in the coming weeks!

My fun and creative fitness challenge is the Jump Rope Challenge! Challenge yourself to jump rope for five minutes a day. (I may actually make this into a real challenge… hmmm… any takers?)

So let me hear it – what is a fun and creative fitness or diet challenge that you would implement? For any level of fitness! Tell me by July 5 for the chance to win!

The contest is open to U.S. residents. These thoughts are my own and I received no compensation from Slimkicker for this post beyond the crockpot for giveaway.

My fun and creative fitness challenge is the Squat Jumping Jacks (jumping jacks while you are in the squat position)! Start with 10 per day (or more) and increase with your fitness level. It's great for leg strengthening and cardio!

My fun fitness challenge would be to do one push-up per day, increasing as the month progresses. So, for example, on August 1st you'd do 1 push-up and on August 31st you'd do 31. (This could be done with any exercise like burpees or squats).

Take all your favorites and even the not so favorite exercises and put them in a jar or container of choice and pull one out each day and do 3 sets of 30seconds to 1 minute of that exercise that day. Continue for the whole month.

I have a challenge I do at work everyday (I even have a spreadsheet to track it, haha) but I aim to do 100 squats and 100 calf raises throughout the day – usually in the bathroom so no one sees me! I do about 20-30 at a time :) I also track how much water I drink!

I think a fun (and funny!) fitness challenge would be to do your favorite type of fitness move out and about and grab a picture of it. That way, it can be a competition for craziest picture! And also, the bunches of people seeing you do it might be inspired too! :)

I work in a cubicle and it can be hard to sit all day long. I think a fun challenge would be to do 10 calf raises and 10 squats every hour and increase by 1 every day. The first day you would end up doing 80 of each (if you work an 8 hour day) and by the end of the month you would be doing a TON! As long as you wouldn't feel weird doing this in front of your co-workers, it would be a fun challenge!! :)

Alternate days of cardio and strength training for a couple of weeks. One day do 30 minutes of running, and the next day do an arms/chest workout, etc. It's important to do both types of exercises, not just one or the other.

I think a fun challenge would be to pick a "new to you" exercise/class/workout each week to try in addition to whatever you already do for fitness. I'm a runner, so I would do, say, yoga one week and then try out pilates the next week. It would be a great way to challenge your body in different ways and you may even discover that you have a hidden "yogi" in you!
