LAZY SUNDAY + WOD MONDAY

After yesterday’s somewhat stressful morning, I spent the rest of the day on the couch taking in football and relaxing. I convinced C that we absolutely needed to buy NFL Sunday Ticket (isn’t it supposed to be the other way around?), especially after seeing the only game we got during the early afternoon slot was Jets vs. Bills. YUCK. (Sorry Kara). You can buy it on Playstation 3 this year which is completely awesome. And really, the price is not that bad. If you justify it by breaking it down per week (it would be even cheaper if you broke it down per game).
So, when I spend most of the day on the couch, it usually ends up looking like this.
I have a collection of “stuff” (cat included) that I just absolutely need so I don’t need to get up. Yes, that is a bowl with an empty grape vine. I also wore my PRO Compression socks so I didn’t have to worry about being sore today, even if it is a “rest” day.
Up until a few weeks ago, a “rest” day during the week meant that I slept until 7:19, lounged in bed until 7:31 and then ran around the house like a madwoman trying to get ready in time for work. Now, I get out of bed around 7 and squeeze in a cross-training session before I have to run around the house like a madwoman trying to get ready in time for work. It works out well.
I did my favorite kettlebell routine yet again, and threw in 10 burpees, 15 push ups and 20 plank toe taps at the end. My arms were shaking, which I’m taking as a good sign. I truly wanted to do this workout (if you’re looking for a good workout like either of these, check out FitFluential on Facebook — they have a whole collection):
But just didn’t have the time (wake up earlier, duh). If I didn’t have to work (I’m trying to fix this by winning the lottery, I have a feeling it will be any draw now), I would seriously work out for two or three hours in the morning. Instead I have to squeeze as much as I can before running off to work, which also means sitting in a desk chair all day. Somedays I feel like this completely negates all the good that I do in the morning.
How do you spend your Sundays? Do you play the lottery? What’s your workout today?

You threw in burpees? I HATE those dang things. Good job.
Hahah they are a tough exercise but one of those that make you feel REALLY good when you are done.
Haha on Sunday I watched football in my pink compression socks, too. Great minds think a like
Ha that's awesome!! Pink and the NFL go great together
My Sundays are usually my sleep in and be lazy days. I usually get up around 8-8:30 am and eat breakfast before starting chores and going grocery shopping. I live a really exciting life.
Hhaah such is the fun life of being an adult.
I've got that WOD from Blonde Ponytail saved on my phone! Maybe I'll give it a try tomorrow
It's a good one!! I just wish I had time to do the full one
I love the blonde ponytail wods!!!! so not a lottery person.
Yes she is great!!
Hi Lora, I spent this Sunday racing – a local 10k, multi terrain so not a PB course, but a really enjoyable race in the September Sunshine …. then an afternoon of gardening ….. which surprisingly helped stop the stiffness the next day! Just as effective as a recovery run!
Sundays are often 'race' days in our house. Have a very hilly half marathon on 30th so will be on 10 mile training runs for the next two Sundays.
Fleur xx
That sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday — I miss gardening.
Good luck with the upcoming half!
