Today marks the 11th anniversary of 9/11. It’s hard to believe that it was that long ago. I will never forget where I was when I heard about the attacks… I was actually in high school at the time and had an open hour first period, so I was walking the halls with some friends when we overheard the radio in one of our teacher’s rooms. I remember the rest of the day was solemn, and even remember listening to George Bush’s speech the following night about the attacks on my way home from piano lessons. I have a scrapbook that I together with my favorite articles and memories from the time and it’s interesting to look back on, not only to see how the local WI news was reporting on the attacks but also to see what my own perspective of the day was.
I can’t even imagine what it was like to live in NYC that day and what it was like to see the towers fall. So many great heroes were lost on this day and it is one that as Americans, we will never forget.
Where were you on 9/11?

I'll never forget where I was…also in high school in first period. I remember every little detail about that entire day, right down to what color gatorade I was drinking and what we did in track practice that day. I still think about it almost every time I go in to the city. So horrifying.
Isn't it weird how those details are so clear, 11 years later?
I will never forget where I was either! Being on the west coast I was just getting to school and my friend went running down the hallway yelling about it. Everyone was so scared. I remember they let us watch everything on TV that day and we didn't do any school work. I was a senior that year.
Yeah it was definitely a scary day!!
I was in my high school pre Cal class. Never will I forget. We watched the TV the whole day.
