SAPPY SUNDAY: IT’S BEEN A JOURNEY

Welcome to another edition of Sappy Sunday! The last edition that is. Here are some of the posts that you may have missed:

The surreal has finally become the real! When I was little girl, I never thought I was going to get married. Let’s just say that I grew up in a small town and the majority of the guys were big jerks (apparently there is something in the water, although they tend to grow up a few years later). When I first started dating C, the idea of marriage was so scary and so what older people did. There came a point where I believed we would never get married.

And now, after 15 months of planning, the day is just around the corner. It has definitely been a journey. There were a lot of great ups and I’m not going to lie, there were a lot of downs, too. I feel like I understand why some people go bridezilla on everyone because I was close to that a few times. Well, maybe not to that extreme… :)

Today, we spent several hours packing. My goal was to be on the couch, napping and lounging with my BFF Apollo, by 1 p.m. to watch the football games. Not even close. I remembered that we had a few last-minute DIY projects (I may need to do an encore Sappy Sunday to show you how everything turned out!) and then of course, the packing debacle.

what do you mean there’s no room for me?

It wasn’t until 6:30 p.m. when we both sat down, pleased that we could finally say that we are PACKED. We have four suitcases that we need to check. Thankfully we only have to manage them on the way down to Jamaica since I’m forcing my parents to take some of the (empty, yes lots of gifts for our guests)! with them.

And now, I have TWO WHOLE DAYS to just get excited and not have to work on anything. I can’t remember the last time I was able to come home from work and just sit and do nothing. Yes! Now that I can think about it, I am getting pretty stoked for this little adventure that we have planned next Sunday.

So yes, it has been quite the journey, and I am even more excited for the next chapter in our lives to begin… (although it still feels weird that I’ll call him by husband!)

If you’re married, when did it “hit” you that you were getting married? What’s the best wedding favor you’ve ever received?
