I cannot believe that it’s already November! That means Christmas is next month. How insane is that?! I love this time of year though. It definitely feels like November though:

BRRR! I hope everyone who is still without power is doing OK and staying as warm as they can. I am thoroughly impressed at how hard everyone is working to get things back to normal. P.S. If you are a New Yorker who doesn’t have water or power and needs a shower, head to New York Sports Club. They are letting people in for FREE to shower, charge up, workout, etc.
I did a shorter run this morning — 4 miles — since my legs seem a little tired still from last weekend’s 20 miler. I had to break out my favorite capris ever:

Can you believe that I bought these at Century 21 (discount store in NYC, must visit if you ever come here!) instead of at the Boston Expo? They were much cheaper… but weird that they were out there for anyone to buy. I would feel SO weird wearing gear for a marathon that I haven’t run before. Tomorrow is a rest day and Saturday will be another long run… my last real long run before the Brooklyn Marathon.
So since it’s the first, it’s time to talk about this month’s goals. I’ve kind of fallen off the map with these in recent months, but I’m back in action! Here are my goals for this month:
- Complete the Brooklyn Marathon. Main goal: have fun. I have no goals for this race, which is kind of a nice feeling. Sure, I have an idea of how I would like to finish in my head but I’m not sure that is really possible given the sporadic training this time around. I think running the Brooklyn Marathon will put me in a good spot for training for Houston Marathon (I will defeat Allen Parkway this year!).
- Get back into cross training. I was doing so well at this and then, well, the crazy wedding planning got in the way! I need to get back to cross training sessions at least two times a week, with push ups and planks throughout the rest of the week. I’ve been such a slacker on planks that even the Plank Police has stopped calling me out.
- Bring back the burpees! Remember my burpee challenge and how I was all like oh I’m going to keep doing these occasionally blah blah blah? Well, I’ve been slacking BIG TIME and it’s time to turn this around. I am committing to doing burpees once a week.
- Jump rope! When I interviewed Kara Goucher, she had said that she was trying to bring the “pop” back into her legs. I feel like I need to do the same… the week of Ragnar was absolutely insane since I ran 30+ miles at Ragnar and followed up the next weekend with a 20 miler. Jump roping helps to improve speed and agility, two things I need. So my goal is to integrate 5 minutes of jump roping into my workouts at least twice a week.
- Share our wedding with you! I am working on a post with more details about our wedding and want to post it ASAP… stay tuned! :
Oh, and since my Gu giveaway winner never claimed the prize, I am doing a re-do! Tell me in the comments below what one of your November goals are by tomorrow at 5 p.m. ET and you will be entered for a chance to win.
P.S. Apparently someone is ready for me to go back to the office (usually he’s glued to my side)…

My goal is to do speedwork to try to pr my 5k in December. Just coming off a half marathon PR, so easy to star, but finish strong.
My goal is to be more consistent with weight training a few times/week.
I buy the Chicago Marathon gear at the Nike outlet – I ran that marathon 5 years in a row so figure it's OK!
My main goal for November is to kick this injury to the curb and get back at it!
My main goal for November is to run 3 times a week–two shorter runs and one long run. I'm not training for anything at the moment, so for me, consistency is going to be key so I don't completely fall off the wagon!
One of my November goals is to participate in NaNoWriMo! Not writing a novel, but it'll be good to get ahead on my blogging
A goal I have for November is to keep increasing my long runs and run at least 2 races. Getting back into cross training would be good too – I've been slacking on my yoga and Zumba!
My goal for November is to continue with BBB bootcamp consistently
AWESOME goals! I can't wait to hear how all of them go. My goal for November is to listen to my body in terms of training and not go over the top. It's really hard for me!
I'm going to try to foam roll, stretch, and do more strength training this month! We'll see how that goes lol
My first goal is to get home! I went to dc for the marine corps marathon and have been trying to get home since Monday !! Second goal is to keep up my mileage so I’ll be easy for my next marathon in march!
My goal is to continue half marathon training!

My main goal for November is to weigh the same at the end of the month. Kids with Halloween candy and Thanksgiving foods kill me every year, combined with not wanting to leave my cozy bed to workout.
Great Goals!
My november goals are to run 4 times a week instead of 2, and start crossfit at least once a week to improve my conditioning. Thanks for the giveaway!
my fitness goal for November is to get a new 5k PR!!!
I got a Portland marathon fleece at the Nike outlet for $6. They were normally like $80 at the expo. I bought it because I ran the race, but I thought that it was also weird that anybody could buy one. I would be irked if I saw someone wearing a Boston jacket that didn't run.
oh burpees! How I would never miss them in my life haha. One of my November goals is to not go back for seconds for Thanksgiving! (:
My goal is to keep up my healthy eating habits and workout routine despite this busy time of year with all the holiday parties with friends and family!
My goal is to walk at least 3 miles a day to keep fit and continue to lose those last few pounds! Thanks!
Yay burpees and jump rope!!! Woohoo!!!! My goal is to train for our half marathon!
One of my November goals is to drink only water and cut out all the sugary beverages with no nutritional value! And healthy eating too!
November goals: get my ankle back in running condition and power through my last month of class
[...] I am taking a rest day (I did randomly do 10 burpees this morning, yay for meeting November goals) but tomorrow I hope to get out and run somewhere in Boston before I have to work. The city feels [...]
