Happy Aaron Rodgers Day

Yesterday was one of those days where if you would have given me a chance to move out of the city that moment, I would have said yes in a heartbeat.

Don’t get me wrong, I love living in NYC and am so appreciative of the experiences we’ve been able to enjoy while we’ve been here. But there are moments where it’s like why am I here? Yesterday for example, the trains were completely messed up… rumor has it there was a train on fire at the stop near our place (Barclays Center). It took me 1.5 times longer to get home… which was frustrating to the extreme since last night was the only night I was going to get home “early” aka around 7 p.m. to work on the number of things that I have on my personal to do list.

And then I decided to make this recipe (modified for oven), which I’ve made in the past, but for some reason last night, it took FOREVER. The pizza dough wouldn’t cooperate, the dough itself took forever to cook in the oven… meaning we didn’t eat until 9:30.

Ugh.

Really I know it’s not that bad, it’s just overwhelming when you see things pile up at home and you just know that you aren’t going to be able to do anything about it.

Anyways. Today is a happier day. I kicked it off with a five mile run with some speedwork, and finished up my workout with a plank (still suck), squats and burpees. I have such a love-hate relationship with burpees because they are so not fun to do (when you do more than 10) but I love how they make me feel.

Also, in case you haven’t heard, its Aaron Rodgers Day.

I really wish I could do this one on the list:

Take the day off work. This is a Wisconsin holiday, which means it’s like a national holiday for you. Demand they pay you even though you won’t be showing up. Throw out terms like “religious discrimination” and “six-figure lawsuit” if they disagree.

Ah, Wisconsin. We’ll be there for Christmas this year and speaking of Aaron Rodgers… we are going to the Packers game on the 23rd! I haven’t been to one before (nobody in my family has) so it should be lots of fun. One of the things on my to do list is to knit scarves for everyone for the game. Is it bad I haven’t started yet? Oops.

Do you have a long commute? Who is your favorite football player/team?
