Yesterday’s flight didn’t go so well… we were delayed over an hour because of a mechanical issue. When we were finally off, the 178 dogs and kids (never traveled with this many before!) were over it so one kid and dog alternated between screaming and barking. Once we got to Milwaukee, we learned our bags didn’t make it! Southwest’s customer service was useless… we had the thought that they must have been taken off while they were fixing the mechanical issue and that they should be on the next flight out of New York City. We decided to hang out in Milwaukee for an extra few hours… and so glad we did!
Our bags showed up! (We probably sounded like the biggest crazies because pretty sure nobody, ever, has been that excited to see luggage…) I swear that NYC has this thing where it hates to see its people leave so it makes travel the worst possible. I think I’ve cried in the airport when traveling for Christmas for the past 5 years at least.
Anyways, back to the fun stuff. Some of our family friends have a really cool tradition to buy “experiences” at the holidays instead of gifts. I’ve heard that this is becoming more popular because it makes it so much more memorable, especially for kids, rather than the latest gadget that will be forgotten about in the next few months.
So, we decided to treat my parents to an experience this year… the Packers game! I am from a really tiny town about an hour and 15 minutes west of Green Bay so the drive isn’t too bad for us. None of us have ever been to a Packers game before so it will be an experience. I’m excited that we’ll get to see this guy play in real-life:\
Right now it feels like 12* in Green Bay, I hope it warms up! Either way… GO PACK GO!
Anyways, I am really excited to enjoy this with my family… it is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sit in Lambeau Field, one of the most historic stadiums in the league.
Pictures and recap to come!
