I am so very disappointed in myself today. You know how I was running the Manhattan Half Marathon? It didn’t happen.
And the reason why is so stupid.
I slept through my alarm! Ugh. C woke me up about 45 minutes for the race and was like “what are you doing?!” I don’t even remember hearing my alarm this morning, let alone turning it off. It takes 45 minutes for me to get up to Central Park, if the trains are “on,” and that doesn’t include time to get dressed and the time it takes to get to the subway station. So I had to shrug it off and move on…
I can’t help but be bummed out because obviously I was looking forward to this race. Usually I have no problem getting up when I know it’s for a run (I always struggle a bit on work days). So I don’t understand why today was any different. Ugh.
Well, it is what it is and I need to let it go and move forward.
So I spent the morning doing all those things that have been on my “to do” list… like cleaning up my room, putting away laundry, etc. I also decided that some delicious homemade applesauce (in the Crock Pot!) would help to cheer me up…
I am excited because tonight we are headed to the “Super Ball,” a meatball cook-off at one of our neighborhood bars. We went last year and it was a lot of fun! Granted, the one we thought was the best took last place… hopefully we’ll do better this year. 🙂
Ever sleep through your alarm? Miss a race? Words of wisdom to share? 🙂
