What can I say, it’s as amazing as everything else that Jillian does. I think my favorite part about it is that she wrote it so that it can be interesting for all people… those who are just getting started on their exercise journey and others who may or may not be fitness freaks. Of course, the book is written so that it is a journey to find your “slim” self, but I think there are some good takeaways even if you feel like you have a good hold on your fitness.
This is probably one of my favorite tips from Jillian:
Eat three bites. Yes, this sounds so simple… but seriously, it’s something I’ve never considered. I usually look at junk food as all or nothing. And how wrong is that? You don’t need to overindulge… most likely, you just want a quick fix of your favorite naughty food. Having three bites fixes that urge and also makes it so hours later you aren’t feeling so guilty.
I also like that she focuses on all aspects of your life, rather than just eating and working out. She talks about living a healthier life financially as well. For me, I think it’s great to learn different perspectives from people about all different topics… it helps me make more informed and better decisions.
Overall, I would definitely recommend that you check out this book. It’s a quick and easy read, but yet Jillian has some advice that makes you go “huh.”
