Yesterday a special visitor came to see me:
His name is Flat Stanley and he was sent here by my nephew as a school project… he is adventuring in NYC today before he heads back to WI and reports back to the class what he saw and did. I think he is going to have a very busy day. 🙂
After a four-day hiatus from running, I am finally back in action! I took a few days off this weekend for the bachelorette shenanigans and yesterday, oh boy… I was not in good shape. I think I am finally admitting that I have a summer cold (I was trying to convince myself that it was just allergies) and I felt like I was ran over by a garbage truck three times after falling from a six-story building. It was a little rough.
I took it easy with a five mile loop around the park and even though it was jump roping day *gasp* I skipped it. I must say I am getting better at the whole jump roping thing, I am probably at the same level as a fourth grader at this point. Baby steps.
On a somewhat related note, have you heard about this crazy race?!
I think this might be my favorite phrase on the website:
Too scared to run with bulls? It’s not as dangerous as you think. In fact, there have been only 15 deaths in the Pamplona running of the bulls in the past 102 years!
Haha. I am really gullible, so is this legit? Or is it a leftover April Fool’s joke?
I must admit, if it is for real, I do kind of want to run it. OK, not just kind of. It sounds really fun! Along with the tomato festival, although I do think the tomato festival has to be experienced in Spain for the best experience.
And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for… the winner of the Oppermacher giveaway!
Congratulations Beth P.! Please email me at bklynrunning (at) gmail.com in the next 48 hours to claim your win. Wahoo!
A big thank you to all who entered… I do have a few other giveaways in the works so stay tuned! 🙂
Where should Flat Stanley visit on his adventure in NYC today?
Would you run the Great Bull Run?
