I never know if Sunday night should be considered the end of the week or the start of the next week? Technically on the calendar it shows it’s the start of the week… but it could be argued.

Anyways, last night we went to see Paul van Dyke in concert at Governor’s Island. It was pretty amazing! There were incredible views of the city.

And the music was pretty awesome.

I must say that I am starting to really like electronic dance music, I was a little hesitant about it at first and wasn’t quite sure where I stood. But it is really fun to listen to and of course, dance to!

{no mom, I really didn’t dye my hair purple…}

Since we got home kinda late last night, I figured that it would be tough to wake up this morning at my normal time for my run… and of course, I made it a little bit tougher by forgetting to set my alarm. Duh.

I woke up a few times and heard it was raining so told myself to keep sleeping… good trade off. When I woke up at 8:30, it finally stopped and it was time for five miles in the park.

I admit that I was a little bummed to only have five miles on the schedule today. That’s a true sign you are in the middle of marathon training! But it was good because I didn’t realize how beat up my legs were from this weekend’s 20 miler (and last night’s dance fest). It was scheduled as a recovery run and I took full advantage by a) making sure everyone in the park passed me at least once and b) telling myself to slow down every three minutes.

My goal is to get back into strength training and all that jazz now that I have time. Today was all about bringing the #plankaday back to life.

Yeah, I have some work to do. My goal is to hit two minutes by the end of the week. #FingersCrossed
