Believe it or not, but when I was little girl, it was my dream to live in NYC. I never thought it would actually happen. And when we moved to New York City in August 2010, our intention was to stay here for a few years and enjoy the experience.

We have had an amazing time in this incredible city and have been lucky to call it home for 3+ years. We have met some awesome people, experienced some amazing things (and some very weird things), and grown immensely along the way.

But now it is time to close this chapter of our lives and move on to the next in…

AUSTIN, TEXAS!

We started talking about leaving NYC last year and in our search for our next home, we wanted to find a place that was a little slower, but still had some aspects of the city that we love. We started our search and fell in love with Austin.

Good food? Check. Outdoor restaurants? Check. Great running community? Check.

Honestly, I haven’t been bored for 3+ years and I am looking forward to having one such moment. We went to visit a few weeks ago (sorry, kept it a secret from you guys!) and fell in love.

The running trails…

{we took some time to explore the running paths and they look amazing! A 10 mile loop around Lady Bird Lake… score!}

{green space! and lots of it!}

The food…

{bbq… so much bbq}

{tacos! funny thing, these were the least spicy things on the menu and my mouth was still burning}

…and the people! It felt weird for people to be nice. And smile at you.

It will be a change, but I am excited for it. I am also really excited for our apartment (pictures once we move in!). It has a balcony and oh so much space! Plus this amazing fitness center that is literally a few steps away from our apartment. We can SEE that amazing running trail from our apartment! I am so so so excited for that… and of course, for all that the future has to come! 🙂

“It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.”
~ C. S. Lewis ~
