I am the most terrible awful dancer in the whole world (which is probably why it seems so random that we go to so many EDM concerts, ha). It’s like that “dancing” gene that most people get skipped my DNA. I think part of it is because I lack the confidence to dance, which makes me super stiff and awkward, and then because I never try it out, I am just not good at it.
Enter Just Dance 2014.
This game is SO MUCH FUN! I think I was laughing and smiling the entire time that I played it, and that includes when I was working out (yes, there is an option to work out by dancing!).
There are a TON of song options. I started off with “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga (which is HARD). Then I decided to hit a classic, “YMCA” with the Village People. I also tried “I Will Survive.”
The variety is amazing… so there is truly something for everyone in the family.
When you choose Just Sweat (the workout option), depending on how long you work out, you select a number of songs. I did the 10 minute option so had three songs to try out. I started with “Blurred Lines” (no Mileys were involved), followed up with Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” and ended with David Guetta’s “She Wolf (Falling to Pieces).”
As you play, the controller tells you how well you are doing. At first, I got a ton of red Xs but I started getting some “Excellents” toward the ends. High five to me. I also like that when you are in dance mode, it automatically videos you and shows it to you afterwards. SO funny. Some of my facial expressions…
Honestly, if you have a Wii or Playstation Move, you should ask Santa to bring this to your home for Christmas. It is a game that the entire family will enjoy (and more than one person can play at once, too). Plus, I guarantee that you will have some laughs… 🙂 (if you follow its blog, Ubisoft sometimes gives away free songs!)
I was given the opportunity to review Just Dance 2014 by Clever Girls Collective. The content and opinions are my own.
Have you played Just Dance 2014? What’d you think?
