Last night I attended a free bootcamp with Camp Gladiator. It reminded me a bit of CrossFit just without the psychoness, if that makes sense. They focused on building your strength through tabata/HIIT training, but I felt like it was more of a focus on form/do what you can than a race against everyone else. 

Anyways, it was a LOT of fun and I am super sore today. I love running more than any other exercise out there, but I do think I have some serious muscle imbalances. OK, I know I have some serious muscle imbalances. 

We had to do bear crawls — both forwards and backwards — and I realized how weak my arms truly are! We have a nice long hallway in our apartment so I might have to bring these back home to build up some strength. 

The good news was that my knee/hamstring didn’t hurt at all during the class! We even did some running, so that was exciting. 

This morning I was aiming to run a little over three miles and was really excited to see how it went. Of course, I had big dreams of rocking it out and being super fast and all that jazz.

I successfully made it one minute and 38 seconds before my knee started hurting. Oh boy. 

I was going to attempt a 20 miler on Sunday but not sure that would be the smartest. Back to stretching, strengthening and foam rolling today. Fingers crossed I can at least do the three miler on Sunday (the good thing about not working is I can do a 20 miler on Wednesday if I want!). 


Lately I’ve been trying to expand my horizons and try some cool fitness products.

Last night after Camp Gladiator I tried Fuelstrip. It is a sport nutrition system that focuses on testing your sweat so you are getting the right balance of electrolytes/nutrients back in your body. I am usually the person that ends up with a headache after working out and I’m pretty sure it’s because I don’t refuel correctly.

I tested my sweat with the cute little strip and found out I needed 240 ml of drink, which was actually super tasty.



They also have gels. I love this idea! I think it will be great in the summer when I get super dehydrated.


A small business owner contacted me about her new product, BottleBand. The idea is that you can create any water bottle into a handheld product:


What an awesome idea. It makes it so easy to grab something to drink on the run… you could use it for water or even Gatorade! I love that she has a ton of different sayings and that they are super cheap ($6).

To tell you the truth, I was nervous about Muscle Milk after finding out I’m lactose intolerant. However, it’s lactose free! YAY!
