Yesterday I had a crazy busy morning, which meant that I didn’t have time to work out. OK, let me back up a moment. I did have time to go for a run if I got up a little bit earlier, but I chose not to do that and told myself I would exercise in the afternoon.

Up until we moved to NYC three and a half years ago, I was an evening runner. I would get home from work around 5, strap on the shoes and hit the road. Evening living in FL, when the temperatures were crazy in the summer, I took my stubborn self out there. 

In NYC, it just wasn’t possible. I got home around 7:30 — on a good night — and to go out for a workout, eat dinner, enjoy life…? Just wasn’t happening. So, my non-morning self transformed into a morning exerciser. 

So that poses the question… when’s your favorite time to exercise?

For me, the biggest plus to working out in the morning is starting your day with a workout. You get your body and mind moving, which is awesome. It makes it feel like it’s going to be a great day — even if it is a rough workout. Even if it’s a tough workout, it’s energizing to know that you were able to accomplish such a huge task that early in the morning. Plus, nothing like knocking off such an important thing from your to-do list first thing in the morning.
