Check out who else has been featured here. This week, I am excited to introduce you to Sue from This Mama Runs for Cupcakes. First of all, how fun is her blog name!? She has such a positive attitude; it’s awesome! Enjoy!
Where to Find This Mama Runs for Cupcakes
1. Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog almost a year ago. I started it as a way to keep my family up to date on what was happening with myself and my family and to help keep me accountable with my running goals! I never realized I would actually have people that wanted to read it other than my family!!
2. How do you stay motivated to exercise?
My children keep me motivated to exercise. I am determined to be a good role model for them and teach them the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I don’t want my children sitting on a couch playing video games, I want to them to be outside playing sports and running around and I want to stay fit so I can do it with them!
3. You’ve been running for quite awhile! What are some life lessons that you’ve learned from running?
–I think one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that I can do whatever I set my mind out to do with a lot of hard work and dedication
–Don’t compare myself to others, I’m running my own race
–set achievable goals as to not set yourself up for disappointment
4. How do you find time to squeeze it all in as a busy mom?
Haha, that is a good question. I don’t “find” time, I “MAKE” time. Running is my “me” time and if I didn’t have this outlet, I would be a terrible mom. I know where my weaknesses are and running is a HUGE stress reliever for me. It is extremely hard to parent two small boys under the age of 5. If it means getting up at 4:30 in the morning to get it done, that’s what I do, period.
5. What is your number one tip for people to stay motivated to reach their health/fitness goals?
You can’t achieve your goals by sitting on the couch. You need to WANT it and you need to MAKE time not find the time. It depends on the amount of sacrifice you want to make and how bad you want it. Finding time for yourself makes you a better person all around. The better you feel about yourself, the better your relationships will be with other people, be it your spouse, co workers and your children.
