TGIF! I can’t believe that next week it’ll be May (I feel like I say these exact words every month), and that this week went by as fast as it did. Seriously, can someone please make time slow down a little bit? I feel like this year has been racing by and not sure if I’m on board with it yet.
***Did you guys see the latest out of the Boston Marathon, about all these people that counterfeit people’s bibs so they could run in the race? One woman found four people that ran with her number. I saw a few other people comment about it on Boston Marathon’s Facebook post.
I don’t really understand that point of banditing a race. You aren’t in the official runner/race results and I would think it would feel like you are cheating the entire way knowing you aren’t an entrant? I get people jumping in to help pace for a few miles here and there, but banditing the whole entire race? It’s just weird. And when it comes to the Boston Marathon — one that people work SO hard to get into — it’s just rude.
***Speaking of working hard, I have big plans for where I want to take my marathon times this year and need some help to get there. I am finally breaking down and buying a Garmin.
It’s been far too long.
If you remember, I quit running with one in NYC because I had an older model and it was irritating to wait for the signals and I would always lose the satellites mid-run, so my numbers were never accurate.
I am in love with the Garmin Forerunner 220:
Now, the question is, to buy the heart-rate monitor or not?
***If you live in Denver, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Miami or Charlotte… I’m super jealous. Kaskade, one of the best in the EDM world, has announced a 5k tour that will make stops in all of these cities.
The events will feature a family-friendly 5k and afterwards, some music by awesome DJs… including Kaskade. He hasn’t announced all where he’ll be, but has confirmed that he will be running and performing at Denver. Now that would be an epic race pic… 😉
What are you looking forward to this weekend?
