{the giveaway is now closed}

I am currently going through this phase where I don’t like wearing my FlipBelt/SPI Belt/Fuel Belt — basically any sort of belt that holds running essentials. I tend to go through phases like this (also in a phase where I hate peanut butter… weird). So, on my shorter runs, I carry my keys in my hands and on my longer runs, I have to worry about how I’ll carry my fluids.

Luckily, there are a lot of bubblers along the trail in Austin, which makes running without water so much easier. But on those super humid days and longer runs, I need to have some sort of hydration with me.

Enter the BottleBand

Basically, the BottleBand is this accessory that turns any water bottle into a handheld. Such a cool idea! The first time I ran with it was last weekend when I did my 17 miler. It fits snug around your hand (but not too tight) so the water bottle doesn’t move around. I had a 16ish ounce water bottle filled with Nuun. At first, it was a little awkward — mostly, I think, because I am not used to carrying something like that in my hand.

But as time went on, I got more used to it and enjoyed running with it. It didn’t impact my pace at all. My favorite part was how easy it was to get a drink — I didn’t have to worry about unhooking my water bottle like I used to have to do with the Fuel Belt. Not a huge deal, but the less fumbling when you are 15 mile tired = the better.

The cool part about BottleBand is that they have some fun designs on their website. The one I have is “sore > sorry.” Great inspiration for when you are on a tough run!

I also love this one:

And the even cooler part? I have an extra BottleBand that I want to give away to one of YOU (along with some other surprise goodies). The giveaway will run through next Sunday, and the winner will be announced the following Monday.

GOOD LUCK! (p.s. international friends are welcome to enter!)
