Did you hug a runner today?
I mean, it should be #1 on your list to do every day, but especially today because its Hug a Runner Day today! I signed up for Run the Edge’s virtual race, and am splitting it up between today and yesterday due to marathon training (it worked out because I had four recovery miles yesterday and today 9 miles). I like doing virtual races because they switch up life a little bit, you know?
Anyways, more details on that later!
But now, I must tell you about my new favorite obsession (note: this is NOT a sponsored post at all, we discovered this on our own and I just have to share because its that good.).
Last night was one of those nights where everything on my upcoming menu just didn’t sound good and I really wasn’t in the mood to cook. These nights don’t happen very often at all, but when they do, we usually go out, but last night we weren’t really feeling it.
So, I remembered reading something a few months ago about a new service called Postmates. I decided to give it a shot.
Downloaded the app, and after it detected my location, it told me which restaurants I could request a delivery from. We chose Homeslice (which tastes so much like NYC pizza its ridiculous) and after entering my order and payment details, the app tried to locate a “postmate” to handle my order. In about 20 seconds, it connected me with Natalie.
I could watch on the map tracker as she traveled to the location to pick up the delivery (not sure how accurate it was) and then saw her “waiting” at the restaurant before it showed she was on our way. Since we live in an apartment complex (which wasn’t clear in how my address was submitted), she gave me a call to say she was here and wah-la! Our pizza was here.
It probably took about 40 minutes from when we placed our order to when we received it (Postmates said it would take an hour).
I can’t believe that we waited this long to try it out, but SO AMAZING. What a cool idea. P.S. I found a coupon code online so I didn’t have to pay for the delivery charge, which varies based on how far away/how complex the drive is to deliver you your food!
