Tomorrow I’ll talk a little bit more about what I thought about this year, so today I thought I’d share what I hope to accomplish in 2015. I am looking forward to 2015… it is going to be a great year!

Before I get into my goals, let’s back up a little bit. In 2013, I was overly ambitious and set 13 goals. Now looking back on it, I’m not quite sure what I was thinking. I knew that we had a pending move to Austin in the fall, along with a bunch of travel, and I still overextended myself. Last year, I decided to whittle it down a bit and not be so ambitious with what I was trying to accomplish… but the issue was that I was very non-specific in some goals, and others, I wrapped the world into a few words.

So this year, I’m taking a different approach. I am planning to be extremely specific, focused, and at the same time, broad so that I can address several areas of life instead of just running.

So, my goals for 2015:

{I just downloaded this draw app on my iPad that I won from the U.S. Apple Association and I’m obsessed…
even if it does make me look like I write like a 5 year old!}

1. Run 2,015 miles in 2015. Adam Goucher (Kara Goucher’s husband) is hosting the 2,015 in 2015 Virtual Race through his organization, Run the Edge. It sounds like such a cool concept and a fun way to stay motivated throughout the year that I definitely want to check it out! It means that you have to run about 5.5 miles on average each day. That kinda sounds like a lot, but then you think about race days when you do two or four times that and it’s not so bad!

I am excited for this because I have never tracked my mileage in a year (weird, right?) so this will be a good place to start! You can learn more about the challenge and how to sign up here

2. Run an ultramarathon. This has been on my bucket list for awhile and you know what? I’m just going to do it. Clinton thinks it sounds insane but I think it sounds like a fun challenge. I would love to be able to say that I’ve knocked one of these off my list! The good news is that there are a TON of these that are held in the Austin area, so I will have a lot to choose from. Stay tuned for more details on this one! 🙂

3. Buy a house. This is a BIG BIG BIG goal of ours! It has been on my wishlist for the past year or so and we have gone into overdrive… So, we will be busy saving and figuring out where we want to be when our lease comes due next fall. I am so excited for this, but so overwhelmed at the same time.

4. Read 12 books. I set this as a goal for this year and was rocking it until I started reading Game of Thrones (really good book, just need a lot of time to be able to sit down and read it!). I want to bring this alive again.

I love to read, but unfortunately, all the other stuff in life seems to get in the way. So, it makes it hard to carve out a chunk of time to do it. I am hoping that this goal will help me stay accountable! And #1 on this list is to finish Game of Thrones by the end of January. *fingers crossed*

5. Pay off 2 credit cards. So this is kinda tied into #3. I did have a goal this year of getting in a better financial state and I feel like we’ve gotten there… a bit. I would love to pay off all of our credit cards that are still following us after leaving NYC.

But, it will take some time and since most of our “free” cash is going towards a house, our debt snowball (thank you Dave Ramsey!) is kinda lagging right now. We’ll get there! I am committed to making some progress on this, and can’t wait to tell you guys about the two credit cards that we’ve paid off this year.

6. Set a PR. Ready for a good laugh? I set a goal this year to PR in every single distance.

I am not quite sure what I was thinking? I think since I was injured at the time, I was in a distance galaxy that had a different idea of what a PR means. 🙂 Anyways, I am making a goal to set ONE PR this year. Of course, I would love that to be the Boston Marathon, but who knows what it will be. It will happen this year, during some race, though!

7. Finish my 2014 CAL. CAL = Crochet A Long. At the beginning of last year, I started a challenge where you were supposed to work on crocheting an afghan throughout the year. Making one square every two weeks. I ended up doing three squares throughout the entire year.

I know, pretty sad, right? So this year, the blogger that is hosting this is doing it again, and I’m just going to pick up and skip a few throughout the year. It will get done this year!

What are your goals this year? Any repeats from last year?
