I just figured out a few weeks ago that we had President’s Day off and it was such a pleasant surprise!
…switching up my long run to include some hills.
Did someone tell you Texas was flat? Because they were wrong. Austin is part of hill country and we have some crazy hills! I usually run Town Lake, which I love because it’s gorgeous and you don’t have to deal with traffic.
This week, I hit week 3 in Boston Marathon training! I had 16 miles on the training docket on Saturday and after my one loop around the lake, I had about 5 miles to fill. I could either do an out and back on the trail or look for something new. I opted for the hills!
If I thought I was in shape, the hills showed me otherwise. I’m not going to lie. There was some walking involved. I can’t wait til the day when I can run these and NOT feel like death.
Plus, I must say I did enjoy being a little bit more sore yesterday than usual…
…spending Valentine’s Day with the guy that’s stolen my heart.
…these socks that I just had to snag from ModCloth with my store credit.
