SXSW (which Austin residents affectionately call “south by”) is just around the corner down here in Austin and it brings a lot of craziness and really fun events! This year, Brooks is hosting a series of runs in order to get in on the action and I am SO excited for them! If you are in Austin, you should definitely join in. I’m running 20 miles on that Friday so I decided to shoot for Sunday.

Brooks Running is hosting an awesome series of events for SXSW! )

Brooks Running will be hosting SXSW Morning Runspirations on March 14, 15 and 16th at 7:30 a.m. (at E. 4th St. & Neches St) to help inspire you to get out and run long after SXSW ends.

Participants will get some sweet swag each morning (while supplies last). Run one morning, run two or run every morning with us.

You can REGISTER HERE.

>>> Speaking of Brooks… have you entered my birthday giveaway yet? You still have time to enter (and remember, you can tweet once a day for even more entries!). I am so very excited about this giveaway because it features all of my favorite things.

{yes, I do have a pirate rubber ducky on my work desk.}

On a side note, I have developed quite the Nuun addiction. We have free soda at work and I used to be so addicted to it, until I realized how crappy it made me feel (I was drinking diet, the worst) and now to get my caffeine fill, I have been using Nuun Energy. My favorite flavor? Cherry limeade.

>>>How much does running rule your life? I love this little quiz from BuzzFeed; it also makes me realize that maybe I need an intervention?

Or is it totally normal to go running in freezing rain… twice… in the same week?

>>> Speaking of freezing rain… March has definitely came in like a lion down here in Texas!

It has been some CRAZY weather, so much that schools in the area are closed today! I used to think that Texans were so wimpy and it was ridiculous how easily they close school. But, after living here for over a year, I finally get it. All the elevated roadways… no salt/sand… and people who don’t know how to drive in it? It’s a recipe for disaster. For about half of my drive into work, I am on an elevated highway. So of course, when it comes to cold temperatures + precipitation = scary driving.

So, I apologize Texas for calling you wimps for so many years. Although it does hold true that you can’t handle a good cold winter day. 😉

Did you take the BuzzFeed quiz? What’d it tell you?

What’s the weather like by you? Was March in like a lion or lamb?
