Today’s the day that we’ve all been working for months, and if you count all the time and effort put into getting a Boston qualifying time, YEARS.
So this is the day that we show the world what we’re made of, lace up our shoes and head to Hopkinton, just like all the great runners of the past decades.
And while the nerves will be bouncing around our bodies, it will all suddenly calm right before we hear the gun go off at the start.
For the next 26.2 miles, it will feel like an unreal experience… once that (runner’s) dreams are made of.
And at the moment we turn right on Hereford and left on Boylston, it will be hard not to be overcome with emotion.
Of conquering the world’s greatest race. Of running to honor those from the 2013 bombings. Of finally seeing our dream’s come true.
So here’s to all of you toeing the line today… I’ll see you out there!
