I think it’s safe to say that fall is officially here. Even though we are still in the 80s here in Texas, it doesn’t feel as warm as it was a few weeks ago. I mean, I might be OK walking outside of the house wearing a short-sleeve shirt. That’s progress, right?

I absolutely love fall and it’s my favorite season. Granted, things are a little bit different down here in Texas compared to celebrating fall up in Wisconsin (since it’s already hoodie season). Courtney @ Eat Run Pray DC posted a fun topic for today’s Friday Five — your favorite fall activities. I’m assuming you can already guess a few on this list… 😉

1. FOOTBALL —>

I absolutely LOVE football season! It’s such a great sport and there’s so much drama on and off the field. Depending on the week, I also love fantasy football. Anyways, fall is such a great time of year because it gives you a perfect excuse just to cuddle up on the couch and spend the afternoon watching football.

2. MARATHONS —>

Fall is definitely the perfect time of year for marathons! There are SO many great ones out there this time of year — Marine Corps (on my wish list!), Twin Cities and NYC Marathon just to name a few. Hopefully, I’ll be adding Hill Country Marathon to that list as well after I run it in a few weeks.

3. CHILI —>

It’s so funny because when I was a kid, I hated chili. My mom always put kidney beans in there and I swear she was trying to poison me with June bugs.

Now I absolutely love chili, and we are almost to the point where I can start making it down here in Texas. Nothing better than watching a day of football and finishing it off with a big bowl of chili topped with cheddar cheese and raw onions.

4. PUMPKIN EVERYTHING —>

Big surprise, right? I do love myself a PSL from Starbucks, but I usually only get one per season because I’m not that big of a coffee drinker and that’s near overload for me. I do love a good pumpkin beer though!

5. HIKING —>

Hiking is fun to do at any point in the year, but I especially love it in the fall because it’s cooler, you can wear a long-sleeve shirt or hoodie with thumbholes (thumbholes!) and it’s even more beautiful than any other time of year. The drive to wherever you may hike is also beautiful!

What’s your favorite season? What do you love about fall?
