This year has been the most interesting because I think I’ve struggled with figuring out how to balance a lot of things going on in life. Between marathon training, a busy and awesome job and balancing family… it’s been crazy!

It’s just been a good reminder why it’s so important to put yourself first.

It may feel selfish, it may feel weird, but you HAVE to do it… because you can’t be good at anything else unless you feel content about yourself and where you stand.

So, with that in mind, three ways to prioritize yourself (plus a giveaway at the bottom!):

1. Give yourself “me” time.

This can be the hardest thing in the world to understand and appreciate. What? I’m supposed to take time out of my already busy day and have it just be for me. ARE YOU CRAZY!?

But spending this time alone can make a world of difference in getting your mind straight and feeding your confidence to be who you are. Of course, running is such a good outlet for this, but even sitting down with a good book for 15 minutes a day can make a huge difference.

2. Stand up for yourself.

When we’re kids, we learn that you need to stand up for yourself and make sure you are respected. Sometimes, I feel like we forget this as adults.

I think once we age, we want people to like us more than ever and to do that, sometimes we compromise. There’s nothing wrong with compromise, unless it changes your values and your stance on key issues. People respect you more if you stand up for yourself and stay true to your guns.

3. Take your vitamins.

Yes, taking your vitamins is a great way to prioritize yourself! It’s the quickest way that you can show yourself that you care.

I tend to become iron deficient if I don’t have my vitamins, and that seriously impacts my day-to-day — not just my running.

In the past month, I’ve also started taking Vitamin Pit Stop’s USANA BiOmega, a fish oil supplement. Omega-3 fatty acids are important for memory and learning, and can also help with cardiovascular, immune and joint health. I’ve taken fish oil supplements in the past and ended up stopping because you have to take like 17 pills a day and end up getting weird fish burps.

You don’t get that with these! Only two pills and no burps. Bonus and bonus.

To make sure you are taking care of yourself this holiday season, I’m hosting a giveaway with Vitamin Pit Stop! You can get your own month supply of Vitamin Pit Stop’s USANA BiOmega. Good luck! 🙂
