Happppy Friday! I can’t believe that the first week in February is already completed. Can time start slowing down at some point? 

Today, I’m linking up with Courtney from Eat Pray Run DC to talk about the five reasons why you need to LOVE fitness. This is, after all, the month of love, right? 



Anyways, I feel like once you find your reasons to love fitness, it makes it that much easier to get out the door in the morning (or after work) and get your work out done. 

So, here are the five reasons why I love fitness… and maybe you will too?

1. The obvious… health benefits.

Out of shape? Round is a shape!


I promise, this is the most boring one of this article. But obviously, you get a lot of health benefits from fitness. A strong heart, healthier body, more energy… the list goes on and on. This is of course is a main reason why I love working out so much, but there are others of course!


2. It’s an amazing outlet.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going… I think that’s how that saying goes, right? But seriously though, fitness is a great way to get going, especially if you are feeling [insert emotion]. I have noticed that the really tough emotions — like sadness — making fitness feel less intriguing, but once I get to it, I feel so much better afterwards. You don’t have to go out there and hit a 20 miler, you can just get out there and get moving. 


3. You get to go shopping.

Fitness requires some new clothes because you obviously can’t work out in your jeans or other clothes. So, shopping spree? I know, you’re probably thinking that means you have to spend a ton of money. Of course you can go to Lulu and buy the capris for $100. But you can also find some killer deals at Target and Brooks has some awesome clearance section deals. 


4. Water tastes good.

I don’t know about you, but after working out a ton, I always crave water and it tastes SO good. I wish it always tasted that good! But, hydration is so important for other reasons, so I think it’s a bonus if I can want to drink it!


5. A sense of accomplishment.



Whether you run for 5 miles or do an ab workout, it feels amazing. I love that feeling of accomplishment that I get when I finish a good work out. I feel so strong and ready to tackle the world (well, for 60 minutes until I start to feel ready for my nap).
