This weekend was one of those weekends that I want to go back and live on repeat like Groundhogs Day. It was my BFF Casey’s wedding and it was an amazing weekend! She asked me to stand up in the wedding and I was so honored to do so. I feel like all of the details that she picked out were so incredible and made one beautiful day.
They were married in Hill Country and had some amazing sunset photos… can’t wait to see how they turn out!
Our other two college besties (we all met freshman year, living on the same floor in the dorms) came into town and we stayed up way too late (minus the bride ;)) on Friday night catching up on life til too late at night (or should I say early in the morning?!).
But, we did have some fun adventures in Austin! I finally hit up the Greenbelt with Kelly (my super speedy marathoner!), and it was so amazing. I can’t wait to go back on a hot day this summer when everything is green and the water is a little warmer.
Back to reality, boo! This week, I am doing a detox. I have never done a detox and I think it’s good timing to try it out. I know that the benefits of doing a juice detox are not known yet; there are some people who swear by them and others who do not. So, we shall see!
I really just want to eliminate my cravings for artificial sugars (I had some sweet tea last weekend that just kicked that into high gear) and perhaps see some of these stubborn pounds come off before marathon training?
So, had my first juicing experience:
It’s a mix of ginger, carrots and Granny Smith apples. It tastes like a spiced apple juice, so not too bad.
And speaking of life, let’s recap last week’s workouts:
I did an early class at Orangetheory, and I’m really digging the early morning weekend classes! I try to do two classes a week, so this eliminates the need to hurry up and get out of work ASAP on a busy workday. This workout was super intense (lots of arms), which is exactly what I need!
Rest day. See above. 😉
3 miles. Kept it easy and slow. I also had OTF after work and we did a lot of hills. My legs were dead tired afterwards!
Stepped it up and went a whopping 4 miles! I didn’t push the pace here —> the idea of my workouts for the past few weeks was basically just to get back into a baseline fitness. This week, it’s time to step it up a little bit.
Rest day. 🙂
Kelly and I ran together — we did just over 5 miles and it was great! A little bit faster pace than I’ve been doing, but it was a good confidence builder.
Hiking adventures on the Greenbelt! About 1.5 miles total.
Total mileage: 12 miles
Mileage was a little low, but mainly because I swapped my long run day with Sunday so this week will have that 10 miler included and feel a little bit longer. I am feeling so much better about where I am and ready to get into marathon training! More details on that later 🙂
