How in the world am I still sore from the trail half marathon from this weekend!? I knew that trail races were tough and that I hadn’t really trained on it that well, but I didn’t expect to still be sore from it. I always like to be sore… for a few days… but not enough days to mess up all of my training for the following week, you know?! 🙂 Ah well, there will always be time to run more.
Yesterday on Instagram, I shared a new book that I’m starting to read —>
Mastering Your Mean Girl. I love the title of this and think it will offer some good advice. I often hear that I’m “too nice” and I’ve learned that it doesn’t necessarily mean that I need to become a bitch, but rather, I need to learn how to be more assertive. I will hopefully have a review of this up soon.
I’ve made a decision to throw my name into the Marine Corps Marathon lottery! I did the same for NYC Marathon this year and didn’t get in (sad face), and I was talking with a friend of mine who mentioned that MCM lottery opens this week. What the heck, why not?!
Question, where does this count for the 50 marathons in 50 states challenge? I mean, it’s technically not a state, so does it count?
Also, speaking on marathons. How insane is this guy?
He’s planning to run 401 marathons in 401 days! Here I’m complaining about sore muscles from a race days ago, and he’s planning to do one. Every. Single. Day.
And lastly… my next race!
I’m finally going a little shorter and opting for the Longhorn Run in Austin. I decided to run the 10k. It’s been a really long time since I ran that distance and I’m hoping that maybe I can get a PR?
If you are in the Austin area —> definitely check it out! They are also hosting various training runs around the city to get people pumped up for race day! You can find a list of these HERE.
What’s one of your weaknesses? Do you hear you are “too nice”? How do you get past this?
Where/when/what is your next race? Details!
