Happy happy Friday!

Friday is my second favorite f-word

And fartleks is obviously the second one… 🙂

I’m joining up with Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC for the Friday Five link up and I’m sharing the next five races on my calendar… thanks to some very exciting news that I got yesterday!

1. Longhorn Run

I have heard a lot about this local race that takes place on April 9. The Longhorn Run is held on the University of Texas campus and features a 5k and a 10k. I’ll be running the 10k! This year, they have new courses so I’m excited to check them out.

2. Ragnar Relay Austin!

I am so excited to be doing another Ragnar. I did one back when I lived in NYC in 2012. My work got a team together and I am excited to run through Hill Country as part of Ragnar Relay Austin. My leg is a little intense — I think about 22 miles — so it will be interesting! This race takes place April 15-16.

3. Grandma’s Marathon

SO EXCITED FOR THIS RACE! I am finally going for my goal time –> sub-3:30. I’ve been chasing this time for a long time so I think it’s finally due. I am SO pumped for it. Grandma’s Marathon has been on my bucket list for awhile and it sounds like such a beautiful race. I am also looking forward to spending the weekend up in Minnesota!

4. Twin Cities Marathon

Fun fact: Twin Cities Marathon was the first marathon that I ran back in 2006. What a better way to celebrate my 10th anniversary of running marathons than going back to the place where it all began? I’ve learned so much about marathon running since then, so it’ll be interesting to see how the course feels with that knowledge.

5. Marine Corps Marathon

MCMarathon | you're in!

…this is the big exciting news I found out yesterday! After not getting in the New York City Marathon, I was a little disappointed so I made myself feel better by entering the Marine Corps Marathon. AND, I got in!! I loved seeing that little email. This race is at the end of October and Twin Cities Marathon is at the beginning of the month, so this will likely be a fun race!

Anyone else get in Marine Corps Marathon? What’s the next race on your calendar?

What’s one thing you are looking forward to this weekend?
