Happy Monday! This weekend was a whirlwind of fun as my bestie Steph came to visit from Colorado. It was her first time to Austin, so I had to show her all of my favorites —> enter a weekend filled with floating the river, BBQ, whisky distillery tour, a brewery visit, more BBQ, watching the bats and of course, hiking!
And now, it’s back to normal (hopefully). This is the first week in awhile that I won’t have to get on a plane, and I actually have OTF on the schedule for two days! Not to mention I got to do some meal prep and planning today. Ready to dominate this week!
Back to last week. It was a little rough of a week because of my travel schedule, but that’s OK. I’m looking at it as having fresh legs for this week’s workouts, am I right?
We left our resort in Curacao at 4 a.m. and I got off the plane in D.C. around 4 p.m. (also had a few hour layover in Miami), and had to immediately jump into some stuff for work. I really wanted to get a run in, but it just didn’t happen.
Who loves an alarm in the 4 o’clock hour?! Hit the gym for four mile repeats with 800m warm up and cool down and 400m rest in between. I love running mile repeats on the treadmill because I can push my pace! I did a 6:58, 6:53, 6:48 and 6:42. I think I can definitely speed these up a bit this week.
10 mile run touring the sights in DC with one of my coworkers! It was such a cool way to experience the monuments, and a great workout!
My last day in D.C.! I did go for a 2.5 mile walk for some more Jrink… 🙂
Friday: Does floating the river count for anything!? 🙂
Saturday: Rest dayyy
3 miles running + 3 miles hiking with Steph before she left town. It was a little humid and slightly rainy, but still a great day to get out.
My mileage for the week was not impressive… 25ish miles (if you count hiking as part of that). I do believe in having a slow down week within the training plan (but kinda had this while I was in Curacao too), so I need to get my butt into gear this week so I don’t compromise my fitness. I have a 20 miler on the calendar this Saturday and am really looking forward to that, along with some more speed and mid-distance runs this week.
What was your favorite thing from this weekend?
How were your workouts last week?
What’s the weather like by you? So much rain — at least we aren’t in a drought anymore!
