So, I finally updated my race schedule — I have some really fun races on the calendar (including a 5k this weekend!) and I’m really looking forward to some of the shorter distances, like the Fit Foodie 5k coming up at the end of June!
I’ve noticed the Fit Foodie Race Weekend the past couple of years, and somehow, always ended up being out of town so I’m super excited to finally be here in Austin to participate… and to represent the race as a Fit Foodie Ambassador! I love the idea of this race because it combines two of my favorite things: running with REALLY good food! I’m really excited to participate in the 5k, as well as all of the other weekend events.
Fit Foodie Race Weekend will be held in Austin June 24-26 (mark your calendars!) and offers much more than just a 5k. The entire weekend includes:
Friday (June 24): Party with a Purpose
The Party with a Purpose kicks off race weekend with celeb chefs, editors from Cooking Light & Health and other Fit Foodies to get ready for the 5k. The event will feature giveaways and tasty food! Plus, a chance to donate your old running shoes to Souls4Soles.
Saturday (June 25): Fit Foodie 5k!
Race day! The Fit Foodie 5k will be held in Mueller. The day’s events go beyond the 5k and also features some delicious foods in the John Hancock Vitality Village… food, beverages, prizes and cooking demonstrations! YUM!
Sunday (June 26): Sweat session
Cap off the weekend with an intense high-energy workout that suits all fitness levels. Afterwards, visit the replenish station for some delicious treats.
