For the past six months or so, I’ve been starting my day with a protein smoothie + two hardboiled eggs and it’s finally the first breakfast that keeps me full (and I think the reason why I’ve lost about 15 pounds!). More on that later.

Instead, I’m going to share a favorite protein smoothie recipe of mine… for a Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie!

I bought this Ninja for my birthday back in March and the thing has been a lifesaver… it is so easy to whip up a smoothie and I don’t have any issues with clumps (which, let’s be honest, is the worst thing that can happen, especially when you’re using protein powder and spinach).

I love this one because you cannot taste the spinach or the protein powder at all (I use Plant Protein from Life’s Abundance and it’s my favorite I’ve had and I’ve tried Beachbody, Isagenix, Vega and everything in between.) 

Anyways… the recipe!

 

Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 5-6 ice cubes
  • 4-5 strawberries, halved
  • One medium-sized banana
  • Handful of spinach
  • One scoop Plant Protein
  • 4-6 ounces of coconut milk

 

Directions

I’ve found over the months that the best way to put the ingredients in so it mixes up quick is: strawberries followed by ice cubes; then the banana and spinach; put the scoop of Plant Protein and finish it off with coconut milk. I usually put it on the blender for a minute or two, shake it and put it back on the blender for a minute.
