Hello from Minneapolis!

We drove about 1,200 miles on Thursday and Friday and made it to the Twin Cities early Friday afternoon. Right in time for my mattress to be delivered! (I only packed a few boxes, sold all my furniture and ordered new stuff to be delivered to my place here. Believe it or not, it was the most cost efficient option. Crazy!)

My friend Stephanie flew into Denver and we drove up together —> there was a LOT of excitement in the car when we finally saw this sign.

I also traveled with my cats… they were both born here in Minneapolis and this is the fourth time they’ve moved across the country with me. I realize that they have probably lived in and visited more states than most Americans. Apollo doesn’t really care (I’ve never had to drug him) but Jax starts to flip out the moment he sees some boxes. I don’t remember what it was called, but the vet gave me some liquid meds for him and they worked like a charm. It didn’t really knock him out, but instead just made him super chill… he was very happy the minute he saw that his cat kennel was put away, though. 🙂

Over the weekend, we spent some time unpacking but even more time exploring the city. It’s awesome to move to a city where you already have a good group of friends! We kicked off the weekend with happy hour (that lasted 7 hours, that’s legit right?) and the next morning, headed to campus for the Gophers game (they were playing CSU, which is Steph’s team!).

From there, we met up with some of my college friends for one drink… which turned into heading to an Oktoberfest across the city. The packing will always be there, right?!

So once that packing is done, I will definitely share some pics of the place! I love how it’s coming together.

Anyways —> with all of the moving fun, there hasn’t been a lot of time to focus on marathon training. I am just trying to roll with it and getting in what I can, when I can. So here’s what my training looked like for last week’s Twin Cities Marathon Training:

Sunday: 20 miles in horrendous heat. SO BAD.
Monday: rest day / OTF
Tuesday: 5 miles easy
Wednesday: rest day
Thursday: 4 miles before the drive!
Friday: rest day (does moving count?!)
Saturday: rest day

Do you like happy hour? What was your favorite part of your weekend?

How many times have you moved? How many states have you lived in?
