Happy happy Friday! I made it home late last night and this morning woke up to some frigid temperatures here in Minneapolis. It was 35! I had a great last run before marathon day, even though I bundled up in a jacket:
I shipped a lot of my hoodies and jackets home to Wisconsin so I didn’t have to move it, so I really hope my family doesn’t forget to bring it up on their way up for the weekend today (*ahem* if you’re reading this). Otherwise, I truly might freeze a little bit until I make it back for Thanksgiving.
Since it’s Friday and it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I am linking up with Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC and Sweat Pink to share five pieces of pink gear that I am loving this month. (Pink is my favorite color, so this is more of a shopping wish list for me!)
Yeah, that cold weather? It’s coming. I have some goodies that I saved from when I lived in NYC, but I definitely need to build up my cold weather running gear. I have recently fallen in love with vests and love this pink one from Brooks! Isn’t it gorgeous? The thing I love about running vests —> they keep your core warm, which does wonders for keeping the rest of your body warm in cold weather. I was a skeptic until I finally tried it.
I loved using these in OTF — if you want to step up your ab workouts or work on your balancing skills, a bosu trainer is the thing for you! Plus, rumor has it that with each sale of one, Bosu will donate $9 to Susan G. Komen.
I haven’t yet tried the marathon elite sock from PRO Compression, but it has more cushioning in the foot and even more calf support. I love the bright color of these —> definitely adding to my wishlist!
Have you ever done a virtual race? They are pretty fun and one of the things I like about it is that you can do it on your own time. Sometimes getting up early on a Saturday just doesn’t work for a race, and with a virtual one, you can squeeze it in when it works for your schedule. I love the idea of the Virtual Pink 5k, because proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Charities of America. Plus, they have some really fun awards for participants!
I reviewed these a few weeks ago — they are a pair of bone conduction headphones that are absolutely amazing for the run because they give you a chance to hear the music AND what’s going on around you, which is so important as runner safety increasingly becomes a more important conversation. PLUS —> if you buy the pink edition by October 31, AfterShokz will donate 25% of proceeds to Bright Pink — a non-profit focused on breast and ovarian cancer awareness and education.
Any other PINK items that you are loving right now?
What’s the weather like by you? What’s your perfect temperature?
