So happy to finally be home from Vegas… I don’t know about you, but it seriously isn’t my favorite place ever. I feel like, to do anything, you just have to spend money. Although, I did end up winning $30 on craps my last night there, so I won’t complain too much about that.
While I was there, I saw this post from Grandmas Marathon —>
Ahh! How did that happen?! I can’t believe how fast this race is coming up (although it feels like Boston Marathon was an eternity ago). My legs are finally feeling like they have some energy, although it was a tough week training in Vegas — mostly because I didn’t want to venture too far off the strip since I don’t know the area that well.
Here’s what my workouts looked like:
Su: 17 miles @ 10:07 per mile
Mo: rest day
Tu: easy 4 miles @ 9:46 per mile
We: 10 miles with 5x1000m at 5k pace for @ 9:17 per mile
Th: 15 miles @ 9:06 per mile
Fr: rest day
Sa: rest day
Total: 46 miles
I was supposed to run 9 miles on Friday, but my legs were dead tired so I figured building in some extra rest days would not be a bad thing. This coming week, I’ll be running over 60 miles so an easy week before isn’t a bad thing. 😉
This weekend, I got a special package from Brooks Running…
That’s right, they are launching a Brooks Women channel on Instagram! Head on over to @brookswomen to check it out, where they will be sharing stories from real women runners and talking about all the things relevant to women. I love that they are opening up this channel and think it’s so cool!
What’s your next race? Are you ready for it?
How was your weekend?
Do you think running is different for men vs. women? Why?
