I’m going to make this into a tradition where I recap my favorite moments from the summer… I did this last year and the year previous, and it was such a fun way to reflect on the previous three months.

So, for this week’s Running Coaches’ Corner with Susie, Debbie and Rachel, I’m giving you a recap of the best moments of the summer of 2017, many of which are running related 🙂

1. Setting an amazing PR at Grandma’s Marathon

2017 Grandma's Marathon Finisher! | Crazy Running Girl

Ooh yes, this was SUCH an amazing race and experience! Melissa flew up for the weekend and we had a blast before and after the race, but the race itself was everything I could’ve ever dreamed. It didn’t feel like 26.2 miles and the city of Duluth puts on such an amazing marathon weekend. I can’t wait to go back next summer! Check out my full race recap HERE.

2. Trying lots of new things… from goat yoga to wakeboarding

My goal of trying one new thing a month is staying strong, and I did a lot of new things this summer. In case you missed it, here’s the full list:

3. Catching my biggest fish ever

This is by far one of my favorite moments of summer… catching my 32″ pike!! I hope I’ll catch an even bigger one this fall, so fingers crossed.

4. Spending 90% of my time outside enjoying the weather

One of the things I loved most about this summer was spending so much of it outdoors. It reminded me of growing up, when I swear we were only inside to eat meals and go to bed. One of the things I always struggled with in Texas was the fact that summer wasn’t a time when you loved to be outside… instead, you were quarantined in the AC. Such a great change of pace.

5. Traveling to some awesome places to spend time with my favorite people

I also got to go on some awesome trips! I went back to Wisconsin a few times, camped in Iowa, spent lots of time up north, hit up Lake Havasu and even had a little fun in Vegas. All of these places were even more fun because I got to spend it with some of my favorite people on earth. And create some memories that will last a lifetime. 🙂

What were your favorite moments of summer? What are you looking forward to this fall?
