Oh hi there Monday, funny how you always seem to sneak up so quickly.
This weekend I didn’t do ANY running. I know, who am I?!
I went for 3 miles on Friday and my ankle felt great (I mentioned on Instagram that I twisted it a bit on my Wednesday trail run so wasn’t sure how it would do) and just wasn’t in the mood to run over the weekend. I decided to not push it and just let it be. Given how my hamstrings have been feeling, I’m sure my body was happy about that decision. 🙂
Before I get into the other four highlights from the weekend, one not-so-happy moment:
I think I heard a collective cry from Packers fans everywhere when Aaron Rodgers went down and didn’t get back up. And, of course, this is the one game that I decided to go out and watch in public… which is always the worst when your team doesn’t win. Sad face.
But besides that, it was a solid weekend! Some highlights.
I got my water drinking back on track
My friend Karyn told me about this app she’s been using to track her water intake — Plant Nanny. I’ve been AWFUL at drinking water, mostly since I started working from home mostly full time (I’m not sure the correlation here) and have been trying to get back on track… and honestly, this app seems to help! I’ve only been using it for a few days but I’ve been getting closer to my goal each day. It sends reminders when I’m falling behind, which I think is probably the most helpful.
I broke a go kart… and still lost in the make-up race
It was a rainy, gross day on Saturday so perfect for some indoor adventures. We headed to MB2 Raceway for some friendly(ish) go-kart racing. Halfway through the first race, my kart completely stopped and wouldn’t move so they had to pause the race… anddd I broke it. (So fitting as the only girl in the race, right?) We got a make-up race and I didn’t do much better (although had a nice recovery from hitting the barrier). It was a fun time, even if that meant I was sequestered to third on the podium. 😉
I fell in love with a new jacket
Brooks just sent me the Canopy Jacket to try out and I absolutely LOVE it. It’s nice and light — which is great for fall runs — and the thumbholes are SO comfortable. So far, I’ve just been wearing this out and about, so I will have to give it a shot running… but I’m in love with it (and I love the coloring of it too!).
The fall leaves… must I say more?
Ahh I’m obsessed with seeing all the fall leaves pop… I swear it wasn’t this exciting last year, but maybe I’ve just become a little bit more basic. 😉 I think I’m going to adventure to another park or two this week to scope out the leaves before they are gone for good.
What were your favorite moments from this weekend?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how competitive are you? (I’m pretty competitive even though I know I usually don’t win… haha)
