Year after year, I’ve set a goal to read 12 books. Just 12 books. Which is ridiculous, considering I used to read 2-3 books a week back in the day when I had a lot more time (read: wasn’t an adult). However, this is the first year that I’m actually going to hit this goal! Three cheers for that.
So that being said, here are my favorite books that I’ve read in 2017.
1. Lone Wolf
I love Jodi Picoult and most of her books are pretty amazing. I really loved reading Lone Wolf; she does a ton of research for all of her books and I learned so much about wolves from reading this. It was a great story on top of that (one that I couldn’t put down!).
2. Big Little Lies
Speaking of books that I couldn’t put down, Big Little Lies definitely falls into this camp. I read this while traveling to Vegas for work and every moment I had to myself, I was trying to squeeze in reading a few pages so I could finish it (I think I read the bulk of it in three days). It has a lot of amazing twists and turns and keeps you intrigued. I love these type of books where you have a couple different storylines to follow.
3. Since We Fell
“Since We Fell” was SO GOOD. I am still obsessed with it. It was definitely a psychological thriller (but totally thought that it was chick lit when I first started reading it). I think this might be my favorite of the year.
4. Little Fires Everywhere
I read a lot of great reviews for this book and they weren’t kidding. “Little Fires Everywhere” was a fast read and so intriguing. I think the author has a great writing style. I did like how there were a few twists that I thought I had figured out, but went in a completely different direction than I even imagined.
