And just like that, we’re halfway through January! My race calendar has been feeling pretty light for the next few months, so I’ve been focusing on some key races that I can register for that fit into Boston Marathon training and also let me adventure around Minneapolis (because that’s part of the fun!).

Here’s what I have on my calendar so far:

Hypothermic Half Marathon (February 18)

What’s better motivation in the heart of winter than a race that has “hypothermic” in the title?! I came across this right before the end of the year, and the price for a half marathon was wayyy too good to pass up, so I had to sign up. I am building this into my training plan for Boston, so no PR attempt here.

Sota Lumberjack 5k (February 24)

I mostly want to run the Sota Lumberjack 5k because it has a really cool hat that you get for running… ha! Despite that, this will also be part of my marathon training for Boston, so I doubt I’ll be going for a PR. I may use it as a tempo race, though!

Boston Marathon (April 17)

I am so excited to be back for my sixth Boston Marathon this year! I am training for a PR (because why not), but I am ready just to go out and have fun depending on what the weather looks like and how my training cycle goes. I just love this race so much that I’m excited and honored to be back!

Zion Half Marathon (April 28)

To celebrate my sister’s birthday, we are headed out to Zion to run a half marathon and adventure around the parks! I am SO looking forward to this trip. Something that will be the cherry on top for this trip? We are going to stay in a tiny house! I can’t wait to try out that lifestyle, even if it’s just for a few nights (that may be all that I can handle).

TC 1 Mile (May 10)

I set a bold goal that this year, I would run a one-mile race and PR in it. I haven’t run a one-mile race since 2012! So, it’s time to see if I can pump it up… I’m planning on running the TC 1 Mile on May 10. Eek!
